1. Incorrect Setting. Sometimes, the reason your dryer is not drying is the simplest one to fix: You chose the wrong setting for the items you're laundering.

Cause. A blown thermal fuse may be to blame. On newer dryers, a blown thermal fuse may prevent the dryer from running at all. This fuse is put in place to help prevent fires.

Hi-limit fuses (AKA thermal fuses or hi-limit thermostats) are safety devices that help prevent the dryer from overheating and causing a fire. Your dryer can have up to three of these.
