Chennai: Seven men who allegedly stole a Chola-era Vishnu idol were arrested and the antique said to be worth Rs 2 crore was recovered from them, the Tamil Nadu Idol Wing CID police said on Saturday.

A Panchagarh court yesterday sent a man to jail in a case filed for trying to smuggle a touchstone idol of Lord Vishnu. The arrestee -- Md Nuruzzaman, 53 -- is a resident of Panchagarh Sadar upazila.
