Two tornado outbreaks in the final days of December resulted ... like Beryl this past July and Harvey in August 2017, this year has had the most nontropical tornado warnings since at least 2014.

The Barfield tornado was one of seven confirmed tornadoes that struck Middle Tennessee in 1997, damaging dozens of homes in its wake.
