A pioneering woman and Reno-Sparks Citizen of the Year who envisioned a 114-mile scenic trail from Lake Tahoe to Pyramid Lake -- and oversaw most of its completion -- has died.

The Tahoe-Pyramid Trail turns 20 years old in 2023, but its history goes back decades. The idea for the trail began in 2003, and in 2005, the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway formed as a nonprofit.
