Early in their project, Jenna and Nick began tearing up a concrete pad to prepare for a new foundation. Their steps included: Removing the existing concrete slab to a depth of 30 inches.

Before starting any surface prep, the concrete must first be qualified, says Increte Systems' Director of Training Tim Lowe. "Not all concrete is going to be a good candidate for an overlay," he says.
