New York crime scenes are getting a VIP area. Cops recently started using a new black-and-yellow tape marked, “CRIME SCENE DO NOT CROSS” to keep gawkers from tramping over crucial evidence.

Police and policing ... the CSI team usually arrives at a home or an outdoor crime scene, surrounded by crime scene tape. The first thing they do is lift the tape and walk straight to the body.
