Cider in bottles tends to be of higher quality than that sold in cans, and is more suitable for cooking. Cider can be used in cooking and is particularly good with pork, sausages, and poultry.
Add the apples, sugar and the scrumpy cider. Bring to a simmer over a gentle heat and cook until the apples are very soft. Add a little more cider or water if the mixture becomes too dry.
