Philippines – Kanlaon Volcano’s alert level was raised to 3 (magmatic unrest) on Monday, and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned it could generate lahar.

When the volcano does erupt, a fast-moving lahar will give Orting residents as little as 40 minutes to evacuate. This bridge is one of two planned to help pedestrians evacuate during a lahar.
