The Japanese fast food chain Sukiya is temporarily closing its nearly 2,000 locations after a rat was found in soup a customer ordered on Friday.

Sukiya, a leading beef bowl food chain in Japan, said it is shutting down almost all of its about 2,000 outlets across the country for four days to address a major hygiene issue.

Sukiya will temporarily shut nearly all of its roughly 2,000 branches after a rat was found in a miso soup and a bug in another meal, the company said.
