A new joint venture has been started between SunOpta Inc. and GreenField Ethanol to develop and construct commercial production processes for generating cellulosic ethanol from wood chips.

They will be building a facility with a capacity for 33 million gallons a year of ethanol from corn. The plant will consume about 330,000 tonnes a year of corn as a feedstock.
