STUART — The city's Fire Rescue Department was rated a Class 1 agency for the first time by the Insurance Services Office, a national organization that evaluates fire rescue agencies.
The Class 1 ratings consist of an evaluation of 50% fire department, 40% water (including water pressure, primarywater size, infrastructure, and pumping capacity) and 10% communications.
After two years of evaluations, Roanoke Fire-EMS has been named a Class 1 department by Insurance Service Office (ISO) – the highest designation offered by the for-profit risk assessment group.
