A magnitude 4.6 earthquake was detected around 5 a.m. a few miles south of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Yuma, which is just about 60 miles east of there, was identified as having tremors.

The movement had as its epicenter 70 km east of that population in the state of Baja California ... that there may be earthquakes of a similar magnitude on the coasts of Mexico and Central ...

The government led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana will join the Statewide Earthquake Drill, scheduled for Friday, April 4, at 10:00 AM, which is open to all residents of Baja California.
