We went on a rainy day in the off-season. None of the buildings were open, but we drove through the village to see the outsides of the buildings. The movie and museum in the visitors center give a lot of information about the miners’ lives in the village, so I think that could’ be worth doing even in the rain.

Hi, yes we are open all year except for fall, winter, and early spring holidays. With the exception of Christmas eve day from 2 pm, Christmas, New Years eve from 2 pm, and New Years Day, we will be open Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Sundays noon to 5 pm. Please view our website, admissions page for more details about hours. And you are correct, we are much slower in the winter and we do have tenants who live here. Hope to see you over the holidays.
