We drove from HW 89 to Boulder on this beautiful road. The scenry is beautiful and there are some pull-outs to enjoy the surroundings. We expected more travellers along the way as it was rather quiet.HaMo1822的完整评论

This gorgeous scenic byway runs from Bryce, UT to Torrey, UT and is one of the most beautiful drives in the country. It is the main way to get between Escalante and Boulder, so you can't miss it. You want to plan this drive during the daytime so that you can see everything and navigate comfortably. We made the mistake of leaving Bryce too late the first time and had to white knuckle part of the drive in the dark.
Can anyone suggest the very best stops? I'd like to see the petrified forest state park and Anazasi state park. How long should we allow for those? We have limited mobility meaning no big hikes but certainly we want to walk to see different views. We will leave Bryce early planning to be in Torrey around 5. Thanks for any help.

There's some nice hikes but with limited mobility it's still worth seeing the large petrified tree exhibit near the parking lot. There's also a short walk next to the parking lot which is paved and level for limited mobility that would just take 10 minutes or less to see.
How long did you take to drive Route 12 from Bryce to Torrey, We are thinking of doing the same. Did you stay overnight at Torrey and then go on to where? Thanks!

It will probably take around 2 1/2 hours without stops. From Bryce we headed to Escalante for two nights which we loved. So many cool places to hike and much less crowded than the major parks. From there we pretty much spent a day sightseeing our way to Moab. So many beautiful spots on rt 12, you should give yourself plenty of time to stop and take in the scenery if you have the time.
