is the world's first intentional unzoo, offering up-close animal encounters, wildlife adventures, a Tasmanian native garden and art.

I should have known something when I walked in and could not see admission prices. At $55 an adult, it was way overpriced in my opinion. Could not believe how little there was to see. It appears to b… Bhcheese59的完整评论

What a find. This is a small but interactive beauty of a place where the animals can come to you for hand feeding and touching. A lovely location and well looked after. If you’re in the area, this pl… Taffy220的完整评论

I thought that the ticket price was a little expensive for what you got. They have a very small tea/coffee facility with a fridge and some cold drinks and icecreams. Inside the sanctuary you do get… pryce_tag的完整评论

Is there a bus/shuttle from Hobart to the Unzoo? If so, how much does the bus cost and how long does it take to get there?

Hello @cloud_surfr , just login today and saw your question. We went to Unzoo by our own car from Victoria mainland. I tried to check if there is bus to go and yes depending where you get it through Hobart offering this service. The thing is, if you go to Unzoo Taranna, you most well visit the Port Arthur as you pass by Unzoo in Taranna when you go to Port Arthur where most tourist bus be available than just the Unzoo destination. Just google "bus from Hobart to Port Arthur" and you will find the first page at least more than a couple of links you can get the right info. TripAdvisor policy won't allow website links so I cannot give you direct links.
How much is the 1 hour tour and how many days notice is needed

No, it is just like a regular Zoo. You can turn up and just stroll through. I do recommend going in the afternoon as they seemed to be when the feeding of animals occurred and when the birdshot was on. As for price, we had a family of 4 and it cost less than $50.
About how many of these "Devils" are in the place? We saw them at the Expo in 1988 - fascinating and funny. We have only one day in Hobart and would like to go on a boat trip and see this place too. The pictures of the area are gorgeous. Any suggestions would be very helpful and appreciated. What time do the devils get fed? So excited to be getting to Australia again.

Hello there. Thank you again for getting in touch. For some reason this query has cropped up again after we supplied an answer. We have four habitats with Tasmanian devils and offer feedings and presentations every hour or so. We also offer a really interesting option of a 900 minute 4WD forest tour to demonstrate how we are using special infra-red photography to monitor the last safe population of local wild devils to ensure they remain free of the strange cancer that has decimated gthe species across Tasmania. Please be assured your visit will have face to face encounters with these fascinating creatures. You also can hand feed friendly pademelons and kangaroos at 10.30 and 2.30, join quoll feedings at 12.15 and 4.15 and have a bit of fun with our Birds of the Bush show at 11.15 and 3.30. We are open from 9am until 5.30. Kind Regards, John Hamilton - Founder / Director
