This is unique to Galveston. There are no hotels right on the beach so you’ve got to cross the street to get to sea wall and then down to beach. The beach has packed sand so easy to walk on.LiketoeatCincinnati的完整评论
When we were there we saw dogs at the beach. They were playing in the water and if not need to be on al leash. they were having lots of fun running around in the water.

I didn’t see any in January when I was walking along the Seawall. But there could be vendors on the pier or more likely along the Strand which is closer to the cruise terminal.

Overall it should be fine and I would not worry. I just looked at the Texas Beach Watch website and most of the seawall beach is showing in the Green level or Low bacteria count. A spot near the Pleasure Pier shows Moderate as do a few spots from 39th to 60th but nothing is greater than that for the whole of the island. Most beach goers play in the surf and might do a big of body surfing but most don't drink sea water as it is so salty. That is the only way you would be effected from a higher than normal fecal count. Go and have fun and shower off after you leave the beach! And don't forget your sunblock!
