I’ve booked tickets to an opera performance on a Friday evening in November. Should we dress formally, i.e. dresses? I went to a ballet performance in Russia last year and the dress code was a real mixed bag; some people were dressed to the nines and others were fairly casual so just wondering what the drill is here.

I wore a sport coat and Inwas the only person dressed like that. My friend and several other women wore dresses, I would say dress comfortably
