Yes, touring bus takes 5mins to bring you to the stop where is around 600 meters away f#TAB#rom the pools. You'll still need to walk through hundreds of stairs to the pools. There are only 5000 tickets available per day. In a small chance, you may try your luck buying onsite from the window if you don't get it online. The altitude is 3,500 meters above sea level. Remember to bring oxygen if you don't trust yourself condition.

Hi Yuval, personally I won't bring 2-3 year old kids. They cannot express themselves clearly if something is bothering them. Altitude sickness can effect anyone regardless what your background is and it is very dangerous for kids and older people. If you fly in, the airport is already around 3,500 high. Then you have to drive thru a winding road and over the mountain, which is over 4,500m high before winding down to the valley of Huanglong. The viewpoints are at 3,500-4,000m high. I was there last April. Although it wasn't terribly cold, it was snowing at times. Please consult with your family phycisian. The Dr. can also prescribe a medication for you. Take care!

I flew there from Chengdu, arriving at Jiuzhaigou airport in the morning and then taking for a pre-arranged 1-day guided tour of Huanglong upon touch-down, together with fetching us to our hotel in Jiuzhaigou that night. From then on, we were on our own as we could either take a cab or slow walk to Jiuzhaigou from our hotel.

I cannot remember cost You will not find pandas nor monkeys. Altitude is too high for monkeys. The only place to see pandas is in the Giant Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu. There is a panda preserve in western Sichuan province, but the animals are so elusive that even a career field biologist who spent two weeks at the preserve never saw a single panda. Go to Chendu for pandas - I highly recommend the center as you will see more adolescents playing (4-6) than you will see anywhere else in the world.
