I agree that the garden is better in spring when weather is warmer and things are blooming. There is usually some sort of display in the garden; the website should tell what it is. The butterfly house is amazing but not filled with butterflies until summer. Just my opinion but I'd wait and visit later.
Is there a cart rental or something for elderly regularly or was that just a favor on the day you went? My dad is going to need a ride probably at least part of the time due to age and mobility issues. Thanks!

I don't think there is cart rental, but believe thete is a conract us area on the website where you can ask. The staff is incredibly helpful and I am sure will get back to you quickly.
