You can use NTS membership for free entry. As regards your motorhome there is some info on the National Trust Cragside website as follows however it doesn't mention overnight stays: "There are a limited number of spaces for motorhomes and campervans at the Formal Garden car park that are available on a first come first served basis. The welcome team will direct you on arrival. Please do not attempt to drive around the Carriage Drive in your motorhome or campervan. The road is single track and too narrow for safe passage. Maximum dimensions for vehicles 8’8 (264cm) high x 6’6 wide (195cm). Unfortunately, due to narrow roads and natural infrastructure, we are unable to accommodate caravans or cars with trailers on site".

The price for entry from the 17th February 2024 is £23.00 per person. The website advises that the House will partially re-open on Sat 17 Feb. Please visit the 'Planning your visit' page for details. Cragside is not participating in any free entry pass promotions. Some paths, including the labyrinth, remain closed due to waterlogged ground.
I understand there is bus service from Newcastle to Cragside, but is it possible to cycle there from anywhere nearby that has bike rentals? or are there other places to bus to Cragside, other than from Newcastle (which looks like a long bus ride)? We can stay in any town with good bus/train service, but we would like to have a whole day at Cragside.

You'd really need to check with the bus companies and/or Northumberland tourist authority but I can tell you that I stayed in Rothbury, which is an attractive small market town with a variety of good shops, pubs, restaurants etc. and is served by buses, some of which stop at Craigside. However it is so close that I walked there in about half an hour and, obviously, cycling would be even quicker.
